King's Church Guildford

About us

It’s hard to give a real flavour of who we are online. The best way to get to know us is to come along and meet us in person. But to give you a rough idea…

We are a new church

We started meeting as a church family in September 2014. This was after months, and for some of us years, of praying and planning. Although we didn’t come out of an existing local church, we do have the support and encouragement of other churches and wider networks, such as the South East Gospel Partnership. Being new means that we are small, but growing - we started with just under 10 adults and 7 children, and currently there are around 75 adults and 15 children meeting every week. As well as being a new church...

We are a relational church

Through Jesus’ death on the cross, we can enjoy real relationship with God as our Heavenly Father and also with one another in His family. It’s been said that ‘Christianity is not an individual sport but a team game!’ That’s because ‘church’ is not a building you go to but a people you belong to. And so with God’s help we are seeking to grow in our love for Him and for one another as we care for, serve, forgive, encourage and help one another in practical ways. As well as being a relational church…

We are an evangelical church

This means that we believe in the good news of Jesus and we are committed to God’s Word, the Bible. We are a group of people who seek to believe what the Bible says, teach what the Bible says and live out what the Bible says. We are not a perfect church, in fact, we are extremely imperfect! And yet we believe in someone who is perfect – whose work for us is enough and whose word to us is sufficient. As well as being an evangelical church…

We are an Anglican church

Although we are not part of the Church of England, we are part of the wider Anglican Communion through our links with the Anglican Mission in England (AMiE). Our Pastor is ordained as an Anglican clergyman and we are part of a new emerging Anglicanism which is conservative in theology and contemporary in style. We enjoy partnership with other gospel churches in the area, the South East and around the country.
