"I knew that Jesus had willingly died in my place so that I didn't have to be punished if I followed Him"
By Holly Cranfield, 16 Mar 2017
I was fortunate enough to have been brought up in a Christian family and church was always a big part of our family life, but 'knowing the stuff' and vaguely considering myself to be a follower of Jesus didn't make much of a difference to how I led the rest of my life.
It was at a youth event when I was 11 that I fully understood that the Bible says I was (and still am!) full of sin, and that my sin separated me from God. I realised that Jesus had willingly died in my place so that I didn't have to be punished if I followed Him. The best news ever! I knew from that day on that I was completely forgiven and washed clean, and that I am certain to spend eternity with Him when I die.
It's not always easy being a Christian and there are things I still struggle to understand, but I really want more than anything for my children, my wider family and my friends to know how amazing the certain Hope I have in Jesus is.
There is simply nothing in life more important or more fantastic.
