"I know that Jesus' words are true: 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full'"

I was privileged to be brought up in a family which follows Jesus. And when I was about 14 years old, I decided that I really did believe the things I had been taught were true; and that Jesus really had died for my sins.
Alongside some summer camps I regularly attended, the teaching and friendship at my home church – Grace Church Highlands – encouraged me and helped my faith to grow. But since moving to university my faith has got even stronger!
Trying to live a life that is Jesus-centred at university can sometimes be very challenging – it’s not always easy to stand out from the crowd and live differently. However, I know that Jesus’ words are true: ‘I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.’ (John 10:10).
Finding a great church family at King’s Church Guildford has been a huge blessing and I’m so encouraged by everything I hear as we look at the Bible as a whole church on a Sunday, and together as students on a Monday night.
I love that being a Christian means my life has a purpose and that God is in complete control of everything that happens – so I don’t need to worry when things go wrong! One verse that I have always found comforting when things seem overwhelming is 1 Peter 5:7: ‘Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.’
As followers of Jesus, we can talk openly to our heavenly Father because He really does love us!
King’s Church Guildford is an Anglican evangelical church meeting in Guildford. Whether you're an established Christian, a new believer, or an interested observer, we’d love you to join us at one of our meetings!
